When it comes to charcoal lighters, a distinction is made primarily between gas charcoal lighters and electric charcoal lighters. As the name suggests, the difference is the form of energy used to ignite the charcoal with the hookah lighter. While the gas charcoal lighter uses gas from gas cartridges to create a flame on which the charcoal is made to glow, the electric charcoal lighter is plugged into the socket and the heating coil on which the natural charcoal is placed heats up and ignites the charcoal. There are also different versions of electric charcoal lighters, which differ mainly in how long it takes for the charcoal to ignite.

Probably the best-known charcoal lighter for hookah is the classic grill, which resembles an electric hotplate. This is equipped with a round heating coil on which the shisha coal is placed. However, the AO models available in the Moze Shisha Shop also include a grid, which should be placed between the charcoal and the heating coil. With this grid, the lighting of the hookah charcoal takes a little longer, but the grid ensures that the life of your charcoal grill is significantly extended. We recommend using this grid in any case. If you are faced with the choice between the 1000 watt and the 1500 watt version, you should ask yourself how important it is to you that the charcoal ignites quickly. The difference between the two lies in how much heat they produce, i.e. how quickly they ignite the charcoal. The 1000 watt charcoal lighter takes about 10-12 minutes to ignite the hookah charcoal, while the charcoal on the 1500 watt charcoal lighter is ready after about 7-9 minutes. To safely transport your charcoal to your hookah after lighting, we recommend a charcoal basket for your hookah.
In addition to the classic hookah grill, there is also the AO Blazer U, for example. Up to 20 natural charcoal cubes can be lit simultaneously on this grill. It is therefore perfect if you smoke several hookah at once with your friends. In addition, the grid between the heating coil and the charcoal is also a kind of tray, which you can use to bring your charcoal from the lighter to your hookah. In other words, the charcoal lighter contains a kind of charcoal basket!
The Shisha Turbine is, as the name suggests, currently the fastest charcoal lighter in the world. With this premium hookah charcoal lighter, the manufacturer promises that the charcoal is ready within 5-7 minutes. This speed is achieved by the manufacturer's patented design of the shisha turbine. Underneath the heating coil, there is a fan in the turbine, which causes an air flow and blows fresh air permanently in the direction of the igniting charcoal. This accelerates the ignition process of the coal. In order not to have to turn the coal, the Shisha Turbine Booster is recommended in addition to the Shisha Turbine.
If you want to enjoy your hookah at the lake or somewhere else in nature, then there is almost no way around a gas charcoal lighter. All you have to do is turn on the gas tap and ignite the flame with a lighter. Then the charcoal can be placed in the tray provided and you only have to wait a short time until the charcoal is cooked through. After about 10 minutes, the charcoal is through and you can enjoy the hookah alone or with your friends! To switch off the lighter, simply turn off the gas tap. That depends on which charcoal lighter you choose. With the most common models, however, it takes 7-12 minutes until the hookah coal is ready. To ensure that the charcoal glows evenly, you should turn the charcoal after about 5 minutes, regardless of which lighter you have.
It is important that you only remove the glowing cubes from the lighter when they no longer have any black spots. Otherwise, the taste of your hookah will be distorted by a strong charcoal flavour. This is also very unhealthy, as the charcoal emits much more carbon monoxide when lit.
