Previously, you would buy a molasses and a "base" tobacco with Fog Your Life, which you simply mixed together to continue enjoying flavors that did not comply with the TPD2 regulation. Since all components of tobacco production must now be taxed, the old FYL system would be quite expensive for the end customer. Therefore, the new Fog Your Life 3-Component System now works similarly to the Fog Your Law System. Specifically, the glycerin component is omitted. Only the pure flavors and the base tobacco are sold by the producer, and customers must source the appropriate glycerin elsewhere. This significantly lowers the price compared to the current norm.
To ensure your tobacco tastes as it should, you need to follow these steps.
If you've never mixed a dry base before, it might seem a bit complex, but don't worry, it's really simple to prepare an FYL tobacco for your hookah.
First, you need 70g of base tobacco, which is now sold in 15g packets in a 3-pack bundle. There is the Hookain Base, a light and sweet Virginia tobacco, and the Nature Base, a heavily processed but relatively low-nicotine Burley tobacco that still brings a tasty spice and a nice sweetness.
In addition to the Hookain Base, you will need a Fog Your Life flavor shot and 100g of glycerin. The choice of flavor for the shot is up to you. We can say that we have liked all the FYL flavors currently available. All in all, with the base tobacco, flavor shot, and glycerin, you end up with about 195g of ready-to-smoke hookah tobacco.
Besides the ingredients, you also need a container suitable for 200g of hookah tobacco and a tobacco fork to mix the ingredients.
First, open the flavor shot and add 100g of glycerin to the flavor in the bottles. Then close the bottles again and shake the bottle for 90 seconds, as vigorously as you can.
Open the container you want to use for mixing and fill it with 70g of your favorite Hookain base tobacco. Whether you want to use a single base or mix varieties is entirely up to you.
Now simply pour the molasses from the bottle into the container with the tobacco. Make circular movements so that the molasses distributes well in the container.
To ensure the components are 100% mixed, it is necessary to stir them thoroughly after combining. The best tool for this is a hookah poker. After about 3-5 minutes of stirring, you are done with the actual mixing process.
Although Hookain or Fog Your Life suggests a shorter waiting time, based on our experience, we recommend a waiting time of at least 3 hours for the normal base and at least 24 hours for the natural base.
