The maker is anything but a rookie, though: behind AINO stands Shanti, a wholesaler from Osnabrück that had already produced several pipe tobacco brands. What makes AINO tobacco so special?
AINO nails its flavours. When a blend is meant to taste like guava, it really does taste like guava, without an artificial aftertaste. On top of that come strong smoke development and good heat resistance, so the tobacco forgives a bit more charcoal now and then.

How do I pack a bowl with AINO tobacco?
AINO is designed for a phunnel with a smokebox, which is how you get the most out of the tobacco. You can smoke the Virginia tobacco in a classic clay bowl with a chimney attachment if you have to, but the flavour and smoke will come across a little more subtle.
For the Burley tobacco from the Dark and Strong lines we advise against a clay bowl with a chimney attachment. If it should not be a phunnel, go for a multi-hole bowl with an HMD. The nicotine will then be a bit more noticeable. Whether the HMD or smokebox is made of aluminium or stainless steel makes no difference.
Tip: Try AINO Dark in a Cosmo Bowl at least once. That combination gave us the best results among the multi-hole bowls.
