Battery Regulation

As a customer of the Moze online shop, we are required under the Battery Act to inform you about the disposal of batteries and rechargeable batteries in connection with the sale of e-cigarettes. It is important that you dispose of your used batteries and rechargeable batteries in accordance with legal requirements, either at a municipal collection point or at a local retailer. Disposal via household waste is strictly prohibited and constitutes a violation of the Battery Act.

We accept batteries and rechargeable batteries back free of charge, provided this is a typical end-consumer quantity. If you would like to send batteries or rechargeable batteries back to us, simply get in touch — we'll provide you with the appropriate return address and reimburse your postage costs.

Labelling and Meaning of Battery Symbols

Batteries and rechargeable batteries containing hazardous substances are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin. This symbol means that batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste but must instead be collected separately.

Beneath the crossed-out bin symbol, you may also find the chemical symbol of the hazardous substance contained. These have the following meanings:

  • PbBattery contains more than 0.004% lead by weight
  • CdBattery contains more than 0.002% cadmium by weight
  • HgBattery contains more than 0.0005% mercury by weight

You can also find this information in the accompanying documents of your delivery or in the manufacturer's instruction manual.

For more information on disposal options and the Battery Act, please visit www.grs-batterien.de or the website of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.

Information on the Disposal of Electrical and Electronic Equipment

The disposal of electrical and electronic equipment is governed by the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG). Old equipment must not be disposed of with household waste, but must instead be disposed of through dedicated collection and return systems to ensure separate collection.

Before returning old equipment, please remove any old batteries or rechargeable batteries from the device. Old equipment can be returned free of charge at the collection points of public waste management authorities or at take-back points set up by manufacturers or distributors.

Retail outlets with a sales area of at least 400 m² for electrical and electronic equipment, as well as grocery stores with a total sales area of at least 800 m², are legally required to take back old equipment.

Please also note that old equipment frequently contains personal data. As the end user, you are responsible for deleting this data yourself. The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on electrical and electronic equipment indicates that the device must be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste at the end of its life.

The Moze online shop strives to provide you with the best possible information and to support you in correctly disposing of batteries and electrical and electronic equipment. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.
