Moze Epos: our own phunnel
There are plenty of hookah bowls on the market, and most of them are specialised in one thing. The Moze Epos is our attempt at a bowl you can use for almost everything: economical on tobacco, uncomplicated to pack, and a match for the Moze hookahs as much as for any other.
The second version is what is on the market now, the Epos Phunnel v2. The first one did well, but there was criticism from the community and we took a look at it. What came out of that is below.

What changed from the v1 to the v2
A smaller depot
The v1 took 15 to 18 g, the v2 takes about 12 to 15 g. That was a deliberate decision: with 25 g tins the smaller depot gets you two sessions per tin, instead of one tin covering one and a half.
A different depot shape
On the v1 the edge inside the depot ran at an angle of nearly 90 degrees. Tobacco collected there while packing, and it was awkward to reach when cleaning. On the v2 that has become a flatter curve at around 120 degrees, towards the outer rim and towards the phunnel hole.
Better material
For the v2 we use an improved, highly compacted stoneware clay. You notice it in the weight: although the bowl has become narrower and smaller, it weighs almost 10 g more than its predecessor. More mass means more stored heat and a more even session.
A slimmer silhouette
The shape is a little finer and the neck more tapered. That is mostly looks, but it also helps with the fit if you use a bowl adapter.
Which colours are available?
We carry the Epos Phunnel v2 in seven colours, plus one B-stock variant.
- Grey: restrained grey, fits almost any setup
- Green: strong green
- Blue: deep blue
- Turquoise: light turquoise tone
- Pink: a colour that stands out
- White Matte: matte white with no gloss
- White Structured: white with a textured surface
- Black Matte as B-stock: matte black with small cosmetic flaws, and noticeably cheaper
Tip on the B-stock: the deviations are purely cosmetic, material and function are unchanged. If the looks do not matter to you, that gets you the bowl for €9.99 instead of €24.99.
How to pack the Epos
Like any phunnel. The hookah tobacco goes loosely around the spike, leaving a narrow strip free at the outer rim. Thanks to the flatter depot curve the tobacco no longer wedges into the corner while you spread it.
To stop molasses running down through the phunnel hole you can fit a phunnel plug. The Moze Phunnelplug fits the Epos.
Which attachment fits?
Any common smokebox. With a 12 to 15 g depot you do not need excessive heat, an aluminium HMD is enough in most cases. Aluminium foil works just as well.
