If you've ever attended a Darkside Tobacco tasting event, you're probably familiar with the Voskurimsya Mumiya. This bowl is widely used at Darkside tasting events in Germany to showcase the flavors of Russian hookah tobacco. The manufacturer chose this bowl for a reason—it's perfect for dark blend tobacco!
If you've ever visited a hookah lounge in the Czech Republic or Russia, you've likely seen a Voskurimsya traditional bowl in use. In these countries, a traditional bowl is the standard because dark blend tobacco, which is more commonly smoked there, performs exceptionally well in them! But the Voskurimsya hookah bowl isn't just great for Darkside’s dark blend tobacco. It also works perfectly with other dark blend brands like Blackburn or Theo Tobacco.
The Voskurimsya is a traditional bowl that, like the UPG hookah bowl, is typically used with a heat management device (HMD). The HMD might slightly overhang the edge of the bowl, but this is not an issue since the air vents of the HMD still align with the opening of the bowl, allowing proper airflow. You can use this bowl with all common heat management devices. Whether you choose an aluminum or stainless steel HMD depends on your preference. For aluminum HMDs, we recommend the ONMO HMD as it offers the best performance at the most affordable price. If you're looking for a stainless steel HMD to generate more heat, we highly recommend the AO 912 HMD or the Na Grani HMD, as both offer similar performance and pricing. Unlike the UPG traditional bowl, the Voskurimsya bowl can also be used with a chimney attachment, though we do not recommend it.
Preparing the Voskurimsya Mumiya hookah bowl is fairly simple once you get the hang of it. It follows the same method as any traditional bowl. You should gently place the hookah tobacco into the bowl without pressing it down, ensuring that airflow remains unrestricted. Additionally, leave a small gap between the tobacco and the HMD.
