There is still a lot of confusion when it comes to plug-in bases and we are constantly receiving questions on the subject. For this reason, we have decided to answer these questions once and for all and leave nothing open!
Many of our customers often asked the same questions: "Which glass base fits my Breeze Two? Which one for my Sphere 2?". Or "Which size looks good with my pipe? Mini or large?". These are just some of the questions we receive almost daily in our customer service department.

Most important: the size - mini and large plug-in base! Will my hookah fit into any plug-in glass base?Standard Plug-In Bases vs. Caesar Crystal Bases: what are the differences? With plug-in bases, a distinction is usually made between large and small ones. On our site, we call the small ones "mini" and the large ones "large".But which base is large and which is small?
As the sizes are not standardized - i.e. uniform in height/size - it is difficult to give an exact size. However, you can speak of a large base if it is approx. 26 cm ± 2 cm high. Small bases, on the other hand, are approx. 20 cm ± 2 cm high. Not that much difference in height at first glance, is it? However, if you then place a smoke column on the hookah you realize how much this difference of a few centimetres can affect the overall appearance of the hookah. There are only a few hookahs where both plug-in base sizes can look good. One example of a hookah where both sizes still fit is the AMOTION FUTR.
A small rule of thumb: It does not mean that a different plug-in base is not possible. Which base fits which model ultimately depends on the downstem. A large smoke column with a short downstem can also work on a small base. The same applies to a small hookah if it has a long downstem. However, these combinations often do not look so well.
Plug-In bases all have an inner diameter of 45mm ± 2mm. There are only a few exceptions here, as some manufacturers have found it useful to develop their own size for certain models. However, this only has disadvantages for the customer and probably only serves to ensure that the customer has to buy a replacement base directly from the same manufacturer if the standard base is damaged. For this very reason, all Moze and AMOTION models are designed for 45mm plug-in bases in a customer-friendly way.
However, as all glass bases are made by hand, there may occasionally be small differences in the diameter of the base opening. Should it happen that your pipe cannot be inserted into a glass base or that it sits too loosely in the base, there are a few things you can do.
If your stem heart is not so easy to insert into the plug-in base, you can follow the steps below. In most cases, these will already solve the problem!
Just as the plug-in base can be a little too narrow, it can also be a little too wide! This can occur due to the slight tolerances in the diameter of the base opening. For this reason, all Moze hookah models are supplied with two grommits of different widths.
If the pre-assembled seal does not fit, simply try the second grommit and if this also fails (which doesn't really happen), you can always contact us by email or WhatsApp!
However, if you have this problem with other plug-in hookahs and don't have a second gasket at hand, the following tips may help:
There are individual cases where none of the tips and tricks mentioned will help. In this case, you should contact the shop/manufacturer where you bought the hookah and an individual solution will certainly be found.

If you're new to hookahs, you're probably wondering "Why on earth do these Caesar Crystal Bases cost so much money? What are the differences to the standard plug-in bases?" The reason is relatively simple: theCaesar Plug-In Bases are made of a very high quality glass material (24% lead crystal glass) and are manufactured by hand.
By the way, we visited Caesar's manufacturing facility in the Czech Republic to see how the Caesar plug-in base is made and shot a video about it!
The manufacture of these plug-in bases takes an enormous amount of time and requires many production steps. However, the results are beautiful glasses that clearly stand out from the standard models. Once you have held one of these plug-in bases in your hands, you will understand why such a high price is charged for these models.
Unfortunately, there isn't really anything here. Only the standard quality and the very high quality from Caesar. We have already tried various manufacturers to find a middle ground between these two levels, but without success.
However, the more unusual shapes of the standard plug-in bases, such as the Neo Lux or theMini Drop, might be something for you. These are standard quality, but look a bit more special!
