You want to buy your first hookah, but you're unsure what accessories you need besides the hookah itself? No problem: We've created a checklist for you that lists all the hookah accessories you absolutely need. As a bonus, we've also created a second list with cool hookah accessories that aren't essential but can make your hookah experience much easier!
First, we want to introduce you to the list of items you absolutely need to smoke a hookah.
Without these hookah accessories, it will be quite difficult or even impossible to set up or smoke your hookah. So make sure you have all these products so you can enjoy your hookah.

Without a hookah charcoal lighter, you won't be able to light the charcoal. While it might work with some stove models, the risk of damaging the stove is quite high. It's better to invest around 20 euros in a charcoal lighter than to pay for a new stove. And worst case, you might get in trouble with your mom if you try using the stove.
There are charcoal lighters in different designs, for example, some that light the charcoal with gas and others that use an electric heating coil. You can find all the necessary information and the products themselves in the charcoal lighter category.
Without charcoal, nothing works - in life and with your hookah! So you need natural charcoal for your hookah. You can find it in our hookah charcoal category. If you want to save money on charcoal, we recommend getting a 20kg hookah charcoal package. You can save a lot of money compared to buying 1kg packages.
To move the glowing hookah charcoal from the lighter to the phunnel, we recommend using hookah charcoal tongs. You can try using other tools like two forks or a homemade tongs made of aluminum foil if you've lost your tongs or forgot to bring them, but it doesn't work very well. You can only get a firm grip on the charcoal with proper tongs. There are many different designs available, which you can check out in the hookah charcoal tongs category.

There are many different variants available. These differ in design (shape and color), but there are also differences in the tobacco compartment. This is the part of the phunnel where the tobacco is filled.

If you don't want to put your mouth directly on the silicone hose to smoke your hookah, you'll need a mouthpiece. And trust us, sucking on the silicone hose isn't very comfortable. As a beginner, the selection might seem overwhelming at first. But for each tobacco flavor, you'll find a description of the taste. You'll also find information about the base tobacco used. This is usually either Burley tobacco or Virginia tobacco. The latter is milder and much better suited for beginners as it contains less nicotine.

The wind cover or charcoal protection grid is the part of the hookah that is placed on the tray to protect against falling charcoal from the HMD or the strider.
