Smoking hookah is relaxing and especially fun with friends. Thanks to the many fruity-sweet tobacco flavors and the cooled smoke, enjoying a hookah has little in common with traditional cigarette smoking. So it’s no surprise that hookahs are especially appealing to young people.
Still, one thing should be clear to everyone:
Smoking hookah is only permitted from the age of 18.

In short: Anything that can be smoked or vaped.
So to the question “Can minors smoke hookah?” there’s only one answer:
Definitely not.
✈️ Travel Tip: If you're going on holiday in another country, check the local laws beforehand. Ignorance doesn’t protect you from penalties – and that can get expensive. That said, there are countries where you’re allowed to smoke hookah at a younger age than in Germany.
