Light Virginia tobacco is repeatedly washed and pressed during its processing, which removes the nicotine content and makes the tobacco milder. What does this mean exactly?
20g of Virginia tobacco (i.e., one full hookah bowl) contains about 10 mg of nicotine – still less than the 13 mg of nicotine that a single cigarette can contain.
The stronger Darkblend hookah tobacco is for those who like it a bit more intense. You can tell by the name: this is a blend of different dark tobacco varieties like Burley or Orient. Unlike Virginia tobacco, the dark tobacco is not washed, which makes it more intense. This is also reflected in the nicotine content:
Depending on the variety, the nicotine content of Darkblend tobacco ranges from 3 to 4%, which makes these hookah tobacco varieties more suitable for advanced hookah enthusiasts.
