AEON Vulcan: a phunnel made in Germany
AEON carries one line with us, the Vulcan, and it is a phunnel made in Germany. At €9.99 it is one of the cheapest hookah bowls in the range, and still not an off-the-shelf pressed bowl.
It is made from quality clay, carefully worked and fired. Modern production and individual steps done by hand come together in it. The result is a bowl with clean workmanship that can take a knock.

What sets the Vulcan apart
The phunnel build keeps the molasses in the depot instead of running into the glass. That keeps the aroma of the hookah tobacco in the bowl where it belongs, and your stem stays clean.
The depot shape is designed to take up heat evenly. With a 6.5 cm depot diameter against a 7.5 cm outer diameter, a narrow rim stays free on the outside for a smokebox to sit on cleanly.
Which glazes are available?
We carry the Vulcan in six variants. The glaze is purely cosmetic, the depot and shape stay the same.
- Indigo: deep blue-violet
- Marine: dark sea blue
- Teal: blue-green
- Lgoon: a lighter, lagoon-like blue-green
- Kiwi: strong green
- Java: warm brown
How much tobacco do you need?
The depot holds about 16 to 20 grams. Depending on blend, setup and heat that usually gets you 60 to 90 minutes. With 25 g tins that means one tin covers a little more than one session, and a full depot twice over needs a second.
Tip: with a 16 to 20 g depot you do not have to fill it to the rim. Start at 16 g and leave some room at the top, and less heat reaches the tobacco directly.
Which attachment fits?
The Vulcan is built for common heat management systems, so any normal smokebox fits, in aluminium as in stainless steel. Without an HMD you stretch aluminium foil over the bowl.
Please note: because of how they are produced, shape and glaze can differ slightly from the product photo. As with any clay bowl, bleeding can also occur, meaning molasses comes out through fine micro-cracks. It has no effect on function and is not grounds for a complaint.
