BLAZE Dark Leaf comes from Hookain and is a high-nicotine, strong Burley tobacco that tastes comparatively mild for what it brings to the table. BLAZE Dark Leaf hookah tobacco is based on a refined Burley blend. According to Hookain, developing a Burley blend that's both extremely strong and smooth to smoke was no easy task. The Cologne-based company got there by infusing their high-quality French tobacco with glycerin and molasses and putting it under 250 bars of pressure. Only this way do the flavours and glycerin pull all the way through the plant's cell structure, a process known as homogenization.

BLAZE tobacco is based on a well-balanced Burley blend with everything fans of dark tobacco appreciate. The blend smokes smoothly and delivers full, intense flavour along with a solid throat hit. The flavours of the individual varieties combine harmoniously with the leathery, earthy taste of the Burley blend, while the tobacco taste itself stays pleasantly subtle in the background.

Which BLAZE flavours are there and how do they taste?

Hookain offers twelve flavours of the Burley blend. Most of them are fruity, with a few sweet outliers for anyone who prefers something creamy. For mixing, we like to reach for Lym Hype with its extremely sour lime, and Preach with its peach and mint tea combo.

What setup brings out BLAZE tobacco the most?

Honestly, that's a fair question without a completely fair answer. We like to recommend the combination of phunnel and smokebox, but a multi-hole bowl is also a solid choice for this strong dark tobacco. Depending on your setup and heat, different flavours come to the front, so it's best to just try a few things out.

For dark blend tobacco like BLAZE, we recommend the following setup:

If the tobacco isn't strong enough in a phunnel, you can also try a multi-hole bowl. A Darkside Shot or a Cosmo Bowl with shot chamber both work well here, since they use less tobacco in case the strength ends up being too much.
