What works about the Luna Crater is above all the ratio. A 20 gram depot for €9.99 is the best price-to-depot ratio among our hookah bowls, and it is a clay bowl handmade in Russia.
The build stands out. At 9 cm tall the Crater is one of the shorter phunnels in the range, and the depot diameter is 6.0 cm. It still takes 20 grams, so the depot is considerably deeper than on the flat models.

What the deep build means
At a 6.0 cm depot diameter holding 20 grams, you get less area but more depth. That is the opposite of the AMOTION Dot or the Kalifa, which build wide and flat.
For you that means: do not pack it too tight. With a deep depot you have to make sure the heat reaches the bottom too, otherwise the lower layer of hookah tobacco goes unused while the top has already burnt.
Tip: with deep depots it helps to go through carefully with a poker about halfway into the session and lift the top layer. That gets fresh air to the tobacco underneath.
The glazes
The Crater line has nine variants, all with artistically designed glazes and organic colour gradients. Depot and shape are the same across all of them, so the choice is purely cosmetic.

Material and production
Production is in Russia from quality clay, known for its durability and stable workmanship. Because production is manual, every bowl is one of a kind, and colour, glaze and surface differ slightly from one to the next.
Which attachment fits?
Any common smokebox. At a 7.0 cm outer diameter, check that the box sits stably and does not overhang too far. Aluminium foil works too.
Please note: because they are handmade, shape, glaze and colour gradient can differ slightly from the product photo. Bleeding cannot be entirely prevented on clay bowls and is not grounds for a complaint.
